COOP4SKA: Scientific and technical preparation for the SKAO through its precursors and Open Science infrastructures.

The COOP4SKA project, led by the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC) and funded through the CSIC I-COOP program, aims to strengthen international cooperation in radio astronomy and computational sciences. The project will foster collaborations with institutions in Cuba, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, South Africa, and Madagascar, promoting Open Science, skills development, and scientific exchange.

COOP4SKA is structured around three core areas: fostering SKA participation, STEM promotion, and Open Science; conducting research on the gas cycle in galaxies; and advancing Open Science infrastructures through data visualization and computing optimization. The project aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to enhance scientific collaboration and technical expertise in participating countries.
